Saturday in the park....
Saturday we decided to go to Grand Teton National Park and hike. We were going to do an old favorite - Hidden Falls & Inspiration Point hike, but at the very last minute we decided to do Taggart Lake. I have done Taggart Lake several times in the winter cross country skiing, however what you notice in the winter is completely different in the summer. Apparently in the winter you do not notice how 85% of this trail has no cover, but on a summer day when it is 88 degrees all of a sudden it is all you can think about on the entire hike. (Hidden Falls trail has lots of cover and would have been so much cooler.) We still had a great time, and no one loves being outdoors more than Oscar. He had such a great time just looking around and of course being carried by mom and dad. We tried to stick his toes in Taggart Lake, but he was having none of the freezing lake. It is too bad all these gorgeous lakes up here require full wet suits in order to enjoy them! The hike was lovely and it was great to just be outside with my two favorite people, however we will look be looking for a shaded trail in the future.
